My role at KEYFORT:
CQC Operations Manager (North East) and Clinical Lead
At KEYFORT, I support the services with their promotion and development. This could be through attending meetings and events. I work with the service managers to build relationships with their local stakeholders. Within KEYFORT, I lead the company governance framework which gathers feedback from people we support to help improve the service KEYFORT provide. In my Clinical Lead role, I promote best practice for people with learning disabilities and behaviours of concern. I provide NAPPI training to the support teams and provide consultation on learning disability services within KEYFORT.
Previous Experience / Background:
I qualified as an Occupational Therapist from the University of Teesside in 2008. My first clinical role was with Neuro Partners (Now KEYFORT). From there, I moved into NHS and private sector services across physical and mental health gaining my experiences as a therapist. I started to specialise in Occupational Therapy practice for people with learning disabilities, working into residential services for 6 years. I completed my Masters in Advanced Practice for Intellectual Disabilities at Edinburgh Napier University and have recently had a research paper published. I have a further role supporting the Care Quality Commissioner as a Specialist Advisor (SpA).
One fun fact about me:
My first job was working at Beamish Museum on the Victorian Fairground.
