Shift pattern available; You will work as part of a rota between the office and with the people we support and their staff team. The rota will include nights and weekends but will be arranged in advance.
Responsible for: Support Workers, Team Leads.
Location: Predominately based between Heaton and Head Office in Gateshead.
Travel: Regular regional travel required.
You will lead a team of Support Workers and Team Leads to provide exceptional support to a person we support with a learning disability. You will work with the person and their staff team to agree goals and outcomes and arrange meaningful activities to support them to meet their goals. You will lead in coordinating safe, flexible and responsive support which is person-centred and strengths-based. You will develop and review care plans, risk assessment and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans. You have a responsibility to safeguard the people we support and the support teams at all times.
You will be responsible for assisting in the recruitment, training and line management of a team of Support Workers to deliver the agreed support packages. You will supervise and observe Support Workers to ensure the agreed support plan is being met and support strategies are being implemented effectively. You will oversee staff schedules with the support of a Resource Administrator, ensuring all support hours are staffed appropriately.
You will be an excellent communicator with people we support, their next of kin, support staff and stakeholders. You will understand and be able to demonstrate that ongoing leadership is vital to ensure the service continues to make a real difference to the lives of people we support. You will take accountability for your own development and learning, identifying and sourcing continuing opportunities for training and using this to develop the service further.
