Essential Criteria; There are set shift patterns working across 2 cases in the Whitehaven area. To apply for this role, you must be available to work across these shifts – additional shifts may be available during times of annual leave or sickness.
Desirable Criteria; Drivers with access to their own care would be advantageous. Mileage and expenses for these tasks will be reimbursed. Any transport costs incurred for community outings with the lady will also be covered, we pay mileage at 0.45p per mile.
Case 1 at Mirehouse, This role would be to support a lady to live independently in her own with her cat and her dog. This lady required personal care needs and clinical support which includes PEG, Cough Assist, Ventilator, Basic and controlled drug administration and management and use of a ceiling track hoist for moving and handling purposes. Full training will be provided. This lady has a passion for Disney, arts and crafts and socialising with her friends regularly. She would like applicants to have a down to earth, approachable personality, who is able to encourage and maintain her independence and support her with the things she loves to do.
Case 2 at Hensingham, This role would be to support a lady with a brain injury who lives independently in her own home with her pet dog. Care needs required for this individual is to encourage and assist with daily basic hygiene needs, basic medication administration and management, meal preparation, weekly shopping and social support. This lady has a passion for sports, enjoys trips out to her local pubs to see old friends and trips to the arcades and also attends bingo twice a week. Applicants are requested to have an open-minded approach, down to earth personality who ideally shares similar interests or is respectful of them and consider and support in situations with difficulties experienced due to her brain injury and encourage social activities during session times
Case 3 at Lowca, This role would be to support a lady in her own home to maintain independence while working from home. She works for a travel agency specialising in accessibility-focused travel.
The role involves providing basic care, including washing, dressing, meal preparation, assistance during meals, toileting, and light household chores. Strong time management skills are essential to help maintain her structured daily routine, which is particularly important due to her autism diagnosis.
The lady has four pet rats and a cat, so applicants must be comfortable around and animals. Responsibilities include assisting with the daily handling routine of the pet rats, using a pet carrier for her to interact with them.
Occasionally, drivers may need to undertake tasks such as picking up prescriptions or delivering samples to the GP. Mileage and expenses for these tasks will be reimbursed. Any transport costs incurred for community outings with the lady will also be covered, we pay mileage at 0.45p per mile.
The goal of these bespoke packages of care is to support the ladies to live independently in their own homes. A range of person centred tasks will be required from you including; medication management, social support, moving and handling and clinical support.
