Vacancy Job Title: Social Care Team Leader
Location: Penrith (Glassonby)
Salary / Rate of Pay: £29,471, basic regular overtime available to boost salary
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours Available: 41 hours

  • 36 hours session delivery in the home of the lady we support, plus an additional 5 hours to complete administrative tasks associated with the role. These will be completed at our Office in Carlisle.

Shift Pattern Requirements:

  • 3 x 12 hour shifts comprising of the following; 10am to 10pm, 11.30am to 11.30pm or 10pm to 10am (waking night)
  • Admin Hours – 5 per week, completed at our Carlisle office or at home

Essential Criteria

  • A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

  • Experience in providing support to individuals with physical disabilities. following their bespoke care plans and showcasing an understanding of their unique needs and challenges.
  • Competence in personal care tasks, with a focus on dignity, comfort, and well-being.
  • A positive and professional attitude, creating an encouraging environment for those you support.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate individuals to work towards their goals and aspirations.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience of working with individuals with complex nursing needs.

Key Responsibilities

Support Provision

  • Deliver high-quality, safe, and person-centred support in person home and during office-based shifts, working on a rota over seven days.
  • Act as part of the contingency plan to cover absences and holidays within the package you manage.
  • Safeguard the well-being of the people you support at all times.
  • Build professional and supportive relationships with the people you support and their chosen contacts.
  • Identify achievable support and rehabilitation goals.
  • Lead and guide Support Workers to follow and implement care plans.
  • Agree support schedules with commissioners, the people we support, and Support Workers, ensuring funded hours are delivered as agreed.
  • Keep the Case Manager informed of support delivery, achievements, and any issues.

Line Management

  • Line manage Support Workers, including regular supervisions and observations.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
  • Lead by example and maintain open, clear communication with all team members.
  • Work with the Recruitment team to hire Support Workers according to individual needs and preferences, and ensure they are fully briefed and trained.
