Female Support Worker – Part Time (20 to 30 hours) – Penrith, Cumbria.

We have part-time contracts available, ranging from 20 to 30 hours per week.

Salary / Rate of Pay; £14 to £15.50 per hour, shift dependant

  • Additional hours may also be available; however, you must be willing to travel to Carlisle or Glassonby to undertake these shifts.

Shift Patterns:

  • This is a 24/7 care package. We operate a fortnightly rolling rota system.
  • 07:30–14:30
  • 12:00–22:00
  • 14:30–21:30
  • 17:00–21:30
  • 21:30–07:30 (Waking Night)

There is some flexibility and additional hours are available for sickness and holiday period. If you are interested in boosting your hours to full time, we have cases in the Penrith, Glassonby ad Carlisle areas where you could cross work – you would need to drive to reach these areas though.

Essential Criteria:

· Female applicant (due to genuine occupational requirement)

· Must be a non-smoker

· Physically fit for moving and handling tasks

· You must be able to work the above shift pattern inclusive of a waking night

Role Requirements:

  • Provide full personal and nursing care. We have our own Registered Nurse who will provide full training and you will work on a 2:1 basis until you are confident in providing all care
  • Be patient, understanding, and able to support someone who is unable to communicate verbally
  • Work as part of an established, supportive team
  • If a driver, assist with community outings
  • Help maintain a clean and comfortable home

What the Role Involves:

You will work as part of an established teams supporting a lady who lives in her home. This is a lovely work environment where some staff members have worked on the team for over 15 years. You will work in a person-centred way ensuring that this ladies physical, social and emotional needs are met. This will be in the home but also supporting with activities in the community with a colleague.
