I work directly with families by assessing needs and developing safe and effective children’s care packages

My role at KEYFORT:

I work directly with families by assessing needs and developing safe and effective children’s care packages, writing care plans and delivering training to Support Workers, to ensure that we meet the needs of the children and Young People we support. I support the Nursing team within KEYFORT in the delivery of high-quality clinical training and competency processes. I also advise on policy and procedures with a particular focus on Children’s Services.

I love being part of the Nursing team as an advisor and provide peer support and clinical supervision to my fellow nursing colleagues.

Previous Experience / Background:

I began my nurse training in 1986, I am trained in both adult and children’s nursing. I have worked with Children and Young People in both an inpatient and Community setting.  My last post was managing a team of nursing and support staff and carrying a caseload of children with Long Term and Life Limiting Conditions. I have loved all the jobs I have had and although, I have now retired from full time nursing I feel I have lots to offer and look forward to supporting KEYFORT in delivering high quality care to the people we support.

One fun fact about me: When I was 16 I met Midge Ure and Ultravox as a runner up in a competition……..I could hardly speak!!
