I am the paediatric Clinical Nurse Educator within KEYFORT North East

My role at KEYFORT

I am the paediatric Clinical Nurse Educator within KEYFORT North East. My role is to lead the delivery of high-quality clinical training and competency processes to enable KEYFORT in delivering safe, effective, responsive, caring and well-led support for children and their families, for now and into the future. To deliver training and competency support for community-based nursing support packages for Children with complex and long-term conditions/needs including, neurological conditions, tracheostomy, ventilation support, PEG support and catheter care etc. To safeguard people at all times. To help manage a nursing caseload for children and young people within the North East region, identifying and delivering the appropriate support plans.

I am delighted to be part of this new service and be part of developing ideas and services to enable KEYFORT to meet the needs of these children. I am passionate about care in the community and keeping children at home and giving them opportunity to reach their full potential.

 

Previous Experience / Background:

I am a registered Children’s Nurse, RNCB, with many years’ experience working within acute children’s hospitals, children’s intensive care environment and then over 10 years  working and developing children’s community nursing services. I have also volunteered with VSO , as a Paediatric Nurse, working for 12 months in Ethiopia.  I joined KEYFORT in early 2021 as part of the new children and young person’s service.

 

One fun fact about me:

I can Irish dance (well used to be amazing !!!!!!!!!, but now a little rusty).
